Following the govt announcement on Monday to remain in level 2 until at least 4th Oct, all staff met yesterday and, unfortunately, had to make the difficult decision to cancel all the Tasman Club Reps Regional Tournaments.

As we made clear in our last correspondence, we can only proceed with all the tournaments in level 1. So as we are still in level 2 at the time when one of the tournaments is due to kick off on 3rd Oct, we have been left with no other option.

We look at all the Tasman Tournaments as one, so it comes down to whether or not we can run ALL the age groups within the alert level 2 guidelines, and the simple fact is we cannot.

Whilst we understand your frustrations and disappointment, we must show due diligence to the guidelines in place at Alert Level 2. At this stage, there is no indication of a level shift and the new Covid cases outside of Auckland have most certainly made that less likely.

We are extremely disappointed for the players, and we reiterate that every avenue has been explored in our discussions.

As I’m sure you will also understand, we are extremely disappointed ourselves too!

No one has been invoiced for any entry fees yet, so no refunds are required.

Hoodies: All hoodies are currently in for printing and being picked up next Thursday 30th September. I completely understand it is not ideal now that the tournament is cancelled, but we were all aware this may happen.

We will contact all teams that have ordered hoodies after 30th Sept and arrange for pick up / delivery of these.
