Tasman United Academy

   Tasman United Academy

Tasman United Academy has been set up to provide high quality coaching for ambitious Nelson/Tasman based footballers aged 12 to 16.

Our mission is to produce players that are self driven and open to learning, with a high level of technical ability and a competitive desire to achieve.

To create this type of player Tasman United Academy is committed to providing an environment where players are given high quality opportunities to practice enhanced by clear and appropriate feedback.

Our coaching is underpinned with qualifications and experience. All of our coaches have or are working towards completing their NZ Football C Licence. The Girls' Squad coach is also working towards his NZ Football B Licence

Tasman Utd Academy follows the playing style formulated for the senior and youth TU sides. Our academy coaching takes this possession-based style into account when planning our sessions. Our coaching outcomes are focused on equipping all players with the skills and knowledge to be able to execute our playing style in game scenarios.

All academy training sessions are planned following the NZF model and are designed to maximise opportunities for our players to learn good habits and practice the skills necessary to reach the next level and develop into footballers that could go on to represent Tasman UTD senior men's and women's teams.

The academy runs four boys' squads (13th, 14th, 15th and 16th Grade) and a girls' squad.
